I'm going to the show tonight. The last time I went to the House of Blues I saw BRMC and showed up a few minutes after the opener went on. It was packed in and I was near the back, but still had a great view. I wonder how many people will show up tonight? Half full?

I've never seen The Verve or RA live before, so I have nothing to compare it to. My review will most likely be glowing unless their instruments are out of tune and Richard is stumbling around stage drunk. :)

Well, I thought the show and the band was great! Glad I went. One thing that bugged me though. The show time said 7:30 and the opening act didn't even come on until 9:00, so I stood around bored as hell. Does House of Blues always lie about the starting time, cause I noticed alot of people came later like they knew. Anyways, the place was 80-90 percent full. I'm still shocked he can't draw a similar crowd as Noel Gallagher. AKA Chicago Theatre

The show was ok. Had a good time.

RA sounded good. Steve Wyreman or whatever his name is looks like he should be playing in rusted root. And his blues guitarist thing is just not working. The bass player looked like he wanted to be Simon Jones. The drummer is obviously very talented, but if image matters, he doesn't fit in at all. All very talented musicians, but came off inauthentic and RA was trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat, aka recreate the verve without the essential elements. RA really looks like a whole different person. At the end of the day, I'm bitter about the verve breakup and this isn't ever going to work for me.

There were some really corny jams too. Drawn out, rehearsed, and overall sounding pointless.

Highlights were sonnet and hold on. Hold on sounded massive live and I am one who has a hard time listening to these people. The crowd was very pleased and mostly pleasant. There were 3 brits who shoved their way in front of me and my wife who is 5' 3" and proceeded to act like complete assholes throughout, blocking her view, but they were having a greatest time so I couldn't bring myself to actually beat them to a pulp, which I was very close to doing.

I have some video clips that I'll try to post later.

Here's a video of Hold On. The live guitar really lifted this song up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03W8KQh02Bk

Don't forget the giant glittering cross dangling around his neck. Fucking ugh.

But yeah, this song definitely sounds a lot better live, especially since the lyrics are fuzzed out.

Oh holy ****, the shadow boxing into the brief Christ pose    :

Ha, he reminds me of the chavs I used to see brawling outside pubs in Leeds after eight pints on a Friday night.
