The new issue of Q, Richard takes questions from the public.

There isn't much interesting but one bit is that he thinks that if Kanye West had released Out of My Body, the reaction across the world would have been incredible, however as he released it ' one of the best songwriters that the country has ever produced' (he actually says that), reviewers dismissed it as having 'electronic squiggles'.

It's things like this that bother me. I grew up with the Verve, going to see them, hearing amazing music before the gigs, and to think that Richard has fell to a position that he thinks that Out of My Body is incredible is disappointing. Does the same guy who walked onstage to Holy Are You, really feel that way?

Anyway, somebody should be able to get a scan soon enough.

I honestly don't think he's a full shilling these days.

Whether it's the drugs or the depression, whatever the cause or combination, to believe that about that song suggests a serious psychological imbalance.

Holy ****.

He's actually moved from a figure of fun to an object of pity. It's no longer even entertaining. It's just sad to see how he's ended up.

"I regret that I didn't do the big decisions earlier" - presumably that means sacking off the band that helped him make the only decent music he's ever made?

And he could have been a professional footballer, but he's better now, at 45, than he was?

Incoherent and insufferable.

For me that happened when he showed up drunk at the youth club. Genuinely sad.

Thanks for the scans, TTR.

It's fucking delusional for him to think that UH would have been anywhere near as good as a solo album. Just listening to the demos without Nick proves that fallacy, and that was still with Si and Pete.

Lol man the false bravado, anything to distract from the hurtful truth he hasn't written a decent song in 20 years. 20.

I could see Kanye singing the chorus to "Out Of My Body", but the entire song is trash.
