What's the deal with Michael Spencer Jones and Brian Cannon these days.

Reading this article MSJ is talking about having the ideas for the sleeves rather than just photographing them. They also avoid mentioning each other by name in interviews.

Does everyone connected to The Verve have to fall out and claim the original credit for everything??

Looks like MSJ is selling early versions of the covers as prints while Brian Cannons sells prints of the finished version. Pretty strange.

Looks like MSJ was the ideas man behind the Oasis covers, according to him http://www.live4ever.uk.com/2010/11/beh ... and-oasis/

Wonder what Cannon's role was?

I still buy CDs cause I like to go through the album insert while I'm listening. For me it's just not the same when I'm streaming music cause I'm not even looking at the cover art.

The cover art for ASIH perfectly captured the music within.

It's shitty BC and MSJ aren't getting money from what they do best. Now they have to sell prints and art installations of their prior work.

I think Cannon was the ideas man, and Jones was the photographer. However, those roles seemed to have merged. I'm sure either guy could confirm what happened but sure they won't speak.

Good find.

Nearly everything here is sold out: http://www.microdotshop.co.uk/category/verve

At those prices I'm guessing these were originals. But how many were available? I can understand selling an original for a certain sum, but why not make prints and sell additional copies?
