Si's Chilly Gonzalez choice was unexpected and fucking classy. I've been loving those Solo Piano records lately too!

You've Never Been Here gave me serious chills. Hell of a recording.

Does anyone know the name of the musician who did the song after the Tame Impala and before the solo piano piece?

EDIT: Figured it out. Nebraska Admiral by Bug Prentice. Anyone else every heard of these guys? They sound great from what little I can find of them online.

Yeah man, I asked Amelia about it and she ended up doing a Twitter introduction for me to the singer / guitarist:

Pretty easy for all of us lot to go on iTunes/Amazon and drop some glowing reviews. It's free and only takes a few minutes. I know I quite often read and act upon them. The more sales they get, the more music and live dates we'll get to enjoy.
I didn't buy my copy off iTunes/Amazon but it still lets me review it.

Nick really needs to check out Music for 18 Musicians, superb album from Steve Reich

But yeah, The Infamous by Mobb Deep is excellent sonically but content wise its on point. What Nick says its "offensive", we need to realize the context of the conditions young poor blacks are faced in and what they are reacting against.

Never was a fan of that Harrison album though.

It's great know Nick is also a fan of John Carpenter's sounds. :!:

Agreed, was definitely surprised by lack of John Martyn, but I think he's made it pretty clear in past interviews that he's a huge fan, particularly of Inside Out.

Surprised I'd actually overlooked that Crosby album in the past, listening to it now and it's fantastic. Traction in the Rain is indeed beautiful. I see Crosby around town every once in a while (he lives nearby) so he's always been one of those artists I kind of take for granted / tell myself I'll get to some day. Glad I checked it out now.

I once scanned a Melody Maker article on here from 20 years ago where Nick picked his favourite records.

Its the same list twenty years on... Crosby, Funkadelic, Eno/Budd, Stooges.

Some dude on the spiritualized board kindly sent me loads of unreleased jams and sessions from this album....you might also like 'blows against the empire' by the same group of west coast psychonauts :)

The five-year break since The Verve’s last album Forth has given Nick time to reflect on how that band ended, and says a love of music persuaded him to give it another go with Black Submarine.

Nick the money grabbing **** using Black Submarine to promote his solo career
